SEOUL, South Korea — A popular sex drug used to treat erectile dysfunction has been withdrawn from the Korean market, a country that has become the first country to ban the drug, a country that has said it is a “significant step forward” for the country.
In an interview withKoreanNews, Dr. Ri Yu-in, director of medical affairs for the Ministry of Health and Welfare (Mochi) said that the drug was introduced in Korea and has not been recalled after being withdrawn earlier.
The decision was taken after a study published by the Korea Food and Drug Administration found that the drug, which is sold under the brand name Viagra, was significantly more effective than sildenafil (the generic name for Viagra).
The drug was introduced in Korea in 1998 and was approved for use in male patients of all ages who suffer from erectile dysfunction.
The drug has been available on the Korean market since 2011, but has been withdrawn in recent years, after reports of serious side effects, including an increase in the risk of breast cancer. Some studies have linked the drug to heart problems, as well as strokes and blood clots.
The medicine has also been linked to the potential for the liver to be blocked by folic acid, which is found in many medications, particularly those used to treat liver problems.
The medicine was not approved by the MOH for use in human patients.
According to the Korea Food and Drug Administration, this was a precautionary measure, and the regulatory agency is taking a more proactive approach in the medical industry to ensure that all products on the market are safe and effective.
On the side of the public, the drug has been withdrawn from the market for safety reasons, which includes its potential link to heart issues. In addition, the drug is not approved for use in patients with existing health conditions, and the Food and Drug Administration has not approved the use of the drug for patients with these conditions.
Dr. Ri Yu-in, however, said that he was “very satisfied” with the decision, calling the drug a success for the Korean market, which “takes a step forward and goes further.”
He told, “We’re very confident that the decision to withdraw the drug from the market will go beyond the current situation in Korea.”

The drug is also not approved for use in patients with existing health conditions and is not recommended for use in pregnant or nursing women, patients with liver problems, patients taking nitrates, patients with kidney or heart problems, and patients with severe heart problems, according to the Korean Food and Drug Administration.
In Korea, the drug is only approved for use in patients who have a medical condition known as heart disease, and in the case of severe heart problems, it was not approved for use in patients with severe kidney or kidney impairment, according to a.
The drug is not approved for use in pregnant or nursing women, according to the Korean Food and Drug Administration, and is not recommended for use in patients with severe heart problems, according to the European Medicines Agency.
“While there has been some concern that the use of vitamin C could lead to serious side effects in patients with diabetes, the drug was not approved for use in women with diabetes, and is not recommended for use in pregnant or nursing women,” Dr. Ri Yu-in said.
“This is a significant step forward for the pharmaceutical industry, and we are pleased to announce that the regulatory agency has accepted the decision to withdraw vitamin C from the market.”

The headlines read “A prescription-only Viagra could save the day – but how?” With the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) now the only reliable pharmacy on the market with prescription drug information, it’s no wonder that “prescription” has proven to be a much-needed addition to your local pharmacy arsenal.
Noel Tippet
As the only legitimate pharmacy on the market with a website address that provides real-timeanging news, plus links to retailers and healthcare providers,The Tennesfield Sunhas produced this summary of the findings of a study that looked atViagraand found it to be effective at treating erectile dysfunction (ED).
Tippet and his team at, conducted a study of US adults (aged 18 and older) and found that the number of prescriptions dispensed for ED medicine increased from just over 790,000 in 2014 to over 18 million in 2021. That’s up from the same period of the same year.
“The increase in prescriptions is great news for people who struggle with ED,” Tippet, a professor at the University of Tennessee, told the Tennesfield Sun. “It’s an important indication of the medicine’s effectiveness in managing ED.”
ED is defined as the inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for sexual activity. It can cause distress, interfere with one’s ability to have a fulfilling sex life, or may contribute to underlying health conditions. ED can cause several problems, including :
“It’s important to note that the increase in ED prescriptions is not a one-size-fits-all, and there are other factors that may affect how prescriptions are dispensed,” Tippet continued. “This study suggests that people with ED may be more likely to get prescriptions for ED medicine, so the potential benefits may outweigh any potential risks.”
The study, which was published in the July 2018 issue ofJournalisa, looked at nearly 3 million prescriptions for erectile dysfunction medicines in the US in 2021.
According to the study’s authors, “ED is a common problem, particularly in older adults and the younger generation. The medications work by increasing blood flow to the penis, helping to achieve and maintain an erection.”
“ED can also be a symptom of cardiovascular disease,” Tippet said. “ED can cause shortness of breath, anxiety, and sleep disturbances, so people with ED should discuss their symptoms with their healthcare provider first before they begin taking the medication.”
ED can also lead to a decrease in sexual desire and ability, Tippet noted. “ED can also be a symptom of mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, or substance abuse, which can impact a person’s ability to have a satisfying sex life.”
ED can also cause psychological distress, he added. “ED is often a sign of underlying health conditions like low testosterone and heart disease, so getting ED medication is important.”
ED can also make it more difficult for a person to perform sexual acts, Tippet explained. “ED can make it more difficult for a person to have satisfying sex, so getting ED medication is important.”
ED can also make it more difficult for a person to keep an erection, Tippet added. “ED can make it more difficult for a person to keep an erection, so getting ED medication is important.”
Tippet said he wasn’t surprised by the study findings because the number of ED prescriptions he received was so large. “It was over 3 million prescriptions,” Tippet said. “This is a one-time study and it was huge.”
One of the study’s main findings: “The prescription-only use of Viagra has shown to be effective in treating ED,” Tippet said. “It is important to note that this study is based on only a subset of patients with ED, and the actual prescribing of the medication may vary between the different studies.
